What can I expect from my child’s mental health treatment?

Anywhere Wellness takes an individualized approach to each child’s mental health treatment. Before your initial psychiatric consultation, your child’s provider will conduct a brief phone interview to understand your child’s needs and goals and see if the practice is a good fit for your family. 

After your call, your child’s provider conducts a 60-minute comprehensive psychiatric consultation and assessment with your child. Shortly after the initial visit, your child’s provider will hold a parent session with just the child’s parent(s) or guardian. During this two-step evaluation, your child’s provider takes a thorough history, reviews your child’s mental health symptoms, and performs a full wellness exam. 

The child and adolescent psychiatry team also screens for several mental health conditions and may run lab tests to evaluate blood count, chemistry panels, hormone levels (thyroid), and vitamin levels. 

Your child’s provider collaborates with you and your family to develop a personalized mental health treatment plan for your child, which may include:

• Psychotherapy
• Medication management
• Nutrition coaching 
• Fitness program
• Mind-body exercises

Because no single treatment or therapy works for every mental health condition, the team at Anywhere Wellness utilizes many therapy modalities to address mental health needs.  

After your initial assessment, you have the option of scheduling a 30- or 60-minute follow-up appointment.
